Young Nails Ireland has been distributing nail care products and more throughout the country for over 12 years, selling cosmetics products into salons and offering uniquely-tailored innovative training to salon staff.
The company selected Reel Label Solutions as its packaging labelling partner on account of the company’s experience in the cosmetics labels market.
The company’s unique tanning product – Sunkissed – is aimed specifically at the Irish market, positioning itself as ideal for the skin tones prevalent in the native population. For over seven years the product has been proving successful for Young Nails Ireland, so the decision was made to rebrand and launch into mainstream retail in addition to professional salon environments.
This led to a requirement to create a packaging label that would really pop, standing out in a crowded marketplace and making an impression on both retail shelves and salon displays.
The Reel Labels solution
The brief from Young Nails Ireland was to grasp customer attention by using incredibly bright, stand-out colours.
Our recommendation was to go down the route of digital inkjet label printing; this method offers improved vibrancy of print over its flexographic equivalent and is also ideal for short-to-medium print runs or situations where multiple artworks are to be printed (in this case, various bottle sizes and product colour tones).
The Reel Label solution was to apply almost fluorescent colours to the tanning product packaging, ensuring it makes a bold impression in salon windows and shop shelves. The finished product would also have to be physically robust enough to withstand application, bottling of the product and transport and display.
A number of different samples and options were created by Reel then tested by the customer, with the final choice being immediately scaled up to full mass production. The quick turnaround of the digital label print machines – coupled with Reel’s efficient MIS system – allowed for the final product to be delivered on time and at an economic cost.
